Default UNKNOWN HELMET PLATE

We've been looking at this for far too long trying to decipher the letters and arrive at the Corps or Regiment. Could someone please put us out of our misery and tell us which unit this plate belongs to. Thanks in advance.

It seems to be KLC, also it seems unusual that the chinscales seem silver or white metal but the plate and spike gilt?

Smile UNKNOWN HELMET PLATE

I would say this is Colonial, probably South African or Rhodesian, maybe our Colonial collectors will know.

I doubt it, I had a look in both Owen's Military badges of Southern Africa and Renfew/Cranston's British Colonial Badges and couldn't find it. Perhaps Canadian, Indian, Australian or from New Zealand?

How about a close up of the monogram. That centre letter looks a bit complicated to definitely confirm if it is an 'L' or 'I'.
Cheers,
Alex

Agreed, a close up would help, could it be one of the foreign legions? Regards Mark

I'll get a close up posted but it won't be until I get in to work next week. Thanks for everyone's efforts thus far. I was worried that this was an "easy one" and I was the village idiot.

I hope not, I hadn't been told I'd been retrenched...

Here is a close up of the helmet plate center. I hope that makes it somewhat clearer.
