I always love this thread each year.
It's wonderful to see all the stunning items 'the cream of the crop' of what collectors have been able to find. Well done chaps and keep it coming. Cheerio, Roy

......this year I was able to pretty much complete my WW1 Italian Airforce badge collection which I have been putting together over the last fifteen years.
By purchasing from a very old collection . Of Note are the balloonist insignia from 1915, I know of no other surviving examples ande Machine gunners M wings , approximately 80 men were qualified. Yet again these are the only ones I have seen. Hope you like . Steve On the left are Airship insignias |

Best-buy of 2019
Good morning
This year has been one of ups and downs personally, with an unwelcome and unwanted house move still affecting my life. Collecting-wise it has been one of discovery with my new-found interest in Customs and Excise buttons worldwide, so my ‘best-buy’ has to be this collection of 192 buttons and 33 badges that I was given the opportunity to purchase by another Forum member to whom I’m very grateful. Out of that group the cherry, as far as I’m concerned, is this Zanzibar Customs button - not just because it is rare, but just because. All the best Graham

It has been a good year for my collection but not such a good one for my wallet. I have found some cracking items from the Burma Campaign, including paperwork, photographs and maps, shoulder titles and formation signs.
I have also found some nice British Indian Army related items including this unusual bowl, probably from the officer's mess of the 23rd Madras Infantry, informally known as the XXIII Wallajahbad Light Infantry they we renumbered as the 83rd Wallajabad Light Infantry in 1903 and became the 4th battalion of the 3rd Madras Regiment in 1922. |
