Default Hello from a new member and query on a badge/uniform

Good evening from West Wales.

I'm a new member so thank you for allowing me to join the forum.

I was directed here whilst undertaking research into a writing / film project on the Great War Graves Registration Units and the formation of the Imperial War Graves Commission.

A friend of mine has a picture (attached) of his grandfather, and we are trying to identify his unit. We believe that he was with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and possibly with the Welsh Regiment's Cardiff Pals Battalion. Served and wounded in the Salonika campaign.

My interest is helmets so I'm a real novice when it comes to badges , but looking around the site, I feel a new interest/passion/obsession coming on.

Any help gratefully received.
thanks
Bob

I would agree with that, certainly not a military uniform or badges.

regards

It appears to be an early / pre WW1 era uniform. Examples can be seen here:

That is really helpful - thank you all. I understand that there is family memory of some involvement with a medical theme.
