In my collage days I got to see the Dave Clark 5, and Simon and Garfunkel. At the time I also played in rock bands and in my older years was in a cowboy band. But those days are now behind and I enjoy listening to baroque, true old western of the '30s and '40s and soundtracks from movies I like.

Terry, I would think "Rabbit" by Chas & Dave would be right up your street.

I used to buy Elvis on 78rpm back in the fifties, then I wondered where he got this muzak from, Arthur Big Boy Crudup, Big Mama Thornton to name but two. Then I got into blues and jug band music, hillbilly and other fifties rockers, but whatever you like, great !

Arthur and Big Mama, along with Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, John Lee Hooker, Ray Charles, Fats Domino and countless others, would have gotten their inspiration from the likes of Leadbelly, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Mississippi John Hurt, Charlie Patton and all the other Blues greats. It's a never-ending cycle really.

Terry, "Rabbit" is as far removed from "Bright Eyes" as it could possibly get. It is based on Cockney Rhyming Slang, as in "Rabbit and Pork" meaning "Talk". It's about a good-looking woman who unfortunately happens to talk too much. Nothing new there of course!!.

Thanks Hoot, I'm probably safer sticking with Bright Eyes!!!

We've made two trips just to visit the places in the novel - "Watership Down". Truly magical and had tea with Mr. and Mrs. Adams in their home on our last trip.

Very nice souvenir Terry. I've never read the book myself but my wife has and she says she found it all a bit too depressing.
