Current 2019 British army badges
Hi all, two questions
What’s the correct name for the material that the current badges are made off, ie those badges after anodised. And when did badge makers get told and start not putting there names on the sliders and bags of issue. Thanks Andrew |

There are a variety of terms used on manufacturers packaging including:
Nickel low bake DE GILT BURNISH BSILVER LOW BAKE BE GILT BSILVER BURNISH D.B.G. BRIGHTSILVER JSP 768 uses: Burnished dead silver Gilding metal bright silver plated Nickel silver, silver plated finish Dead gilt and burnished (with red enamel ...) Gilding metal burnished surface condition, dead gilt treatment Dead silver and dead gilt burnished 2012 is apparently the cut off date but maker named packaging dated post 2012 exist some still with maker named sliders. Hi Tim, thanks for this, I have maker named badges and packets to The Royal Anglian dated 2013, but none later, so 2012/13 would be a good date. Shame we don't have a straight forward name for these New Metal badges. |
