I can now trace with certainty badges brown khaki back to 1930 by sealed patterns.
This is beginning to look like a continuous "Guards Pattern" brown khaki alternative set for a very long period. We now need to bridge the gap 1902 to 1930. |

I have not been able to find an earlier SP although the CB No and Pattern No of the Crossed Rifles are CB0169 and 10382 so would also have been sealed circa 1930.
More recently: Clothing Regulations Pamphlet No 15 dated 11 August 1966 paragraph 4(c) No 2 Dress - The Household Cavalry and the Foot Guards will wear full size khaki badges and chevrons with brown embroidery. Tim

I've been watching this thread with interest, a couple of observations, the A W Gamage Ltd catalogue doesn't seem to mention an option of "Guards" colours?
And the only trade badge in my collection which I suspect to be pre 1918 is this one which may be Guards but I would have thought was more likely RE? So perhaps the white threaded badges were post 1918? Rob |

Pattern cards are a nightmare, the one posted by Tim although dated as sealed in 1930, this must have been done from records as the Card it is on is dated 2/49 and the reference file is 1929.
