Default CROSSED PROPELLERS

Hi all, any one ID this for me. I think I have seen it on here somewhere, but not knowing what it is; it's tough to do a search.

Cheers

Simon.

I think you can rule out British badges. The oak leaves make me think it's German so I'll do a little search based on that.

Very similar to insignia worn by the German Engineering Corps in WW2, also not a million miles away from Polish NCO school.

I'm finding nothing that comes even close to matching it. The only match I can get is for the garland/wreath and that does appear to be Luftwaffe and probably WW2. We need better eyes on this than mine.

Good find but I don't think it's related. Lots of air forces (and navies) around the world will have similar, four bladed, propeller badges. My personal view, as stated, is that the clue is in the oak leaf garland.

One half oak leaves, the other laurel leaves. What is the method of fixing Simon?

The garland on this glider proficiency badge has some similarities. Further clues as to Luftwaffe origin perhaps? I note the inclusion of the swastika on this one however which is missing from OP's badge. Is that an indication that this one is post WW2? Or does it indicate an even older manufacture and use?

Hi Nozzer, this one has no fixings. here's the back. Doesn't even seem to have the signs of having any either.

I thought it might have been a French aviation badge, or possibly British. But as pointed out, the Oak leaves were common German motifs.

Regards

Simon.

Hi,
it's a french cap badge before WW2.
it was worn by the airships staff (in french : ballon dirigeable)
This badge was stitched on the beret.
Best regards
Bernard

Thanks Grognard94. Super information. Can you provide a link perhaps to give us all a little more information? I've repeated my searches with your info and the closest I'm getting is still German, this one: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Germany-WW1-M...7mw~~60_35.JPG
