4th Hussars Officer Visor Cap
Attributed & named to Capt. Stephen Theodore Eve, MC, who was awarded the MC for service in Greece, in April, 1941, where he and two thirds of the 4th Hussars were captured by German troops, spending the rest of the war as POW's.
He later commanded the regiment as a lieut. col. The London Gazette notice of the MC was dated 13 September,1945. One of the earliest Herbert Johnson caps I have seen. |

Interesting, any chance of a better pic of the royal warrant/makers logo?

A typo on the caption Jerry? - 1936-38, Late King George VI?
Or am I misreading? |

It's almost illegible, but if I look under strong light, I can just make out traces of the logo. In the 1938 Army List, Eve is listed as a lieutenant from 1 September 1935. |

this label from an Indian made RWF officers which appears to have the same date/format royal warrant, clearly marked to the late George V and the prince of wales, (the latter dated 1936) is a good comparison with the Herbert Johnson example I showed earlier.

It looks good! It's well preserved from that time.
I'm curious if caps like that are selling nowadays. |

If I can find a cap attributed or named to a specific officer, so much the better. |
