Have a look on here: http://www.worldmedals.co.uk/Rib/britribb.htm
The first four (from left to right) seem to be quite straightforward: 1939-45 Star Africa Star (with 8th Army clasp) Defence Medal War Medal The last one however, I'm not totally sure about - have the colours faded at all (what are they like on the back)? For my money though, I think it's the Efficiency Medal (for time served in the Territorials). HTH, Kevin

All I can add is that the absence of an Italy or France and Germany Star after the Africa Star suggests possibilities such as a prisoner of war, sufficiently wounded to take no part in the war actively after 1943, or discharged.

Hi Gents,
Very quick replies, and I can confirm that the centre colour of the ribbon in question is green and conforms to the TA efficiency. I doubt I will ever be able to unpick the conundrum that Staffsyeoman has posed with his observations...……... Thanks all. Kevin |

Hi Stephen,
What an odd coincidence, how likely is it that this combination would be mirrored in another soldiers WW2 service? Very nice presentation, I did something similar with my Grandfathers medals and badges. Yours would look nice with an original 5 Bar medal ribbon...…... Keep safe Kevin |

I like the construction on the back. Not so common fixing system.

I am always looking early (pre 1939) British ribbon bars with foreign awards; interesting devices or just different construction solutions. Also I am seeking Royal Dublin Fusiliers items. I can help in small scale to research RDF soldiers (MICs, medal rolls, additional information, etc). |
