Indian State Forces
Possibly a post-War variation on the lower sign - WW2 period Bhopal State Forces. Their cap badge also featured fish as supporters (in lieu of lions and unicorns!) Mike

Facing the opposite way, but they may have been made in matched pairs, so BHopal SF is a possibility, I agree. The supporters of the state's coat of arms are two fish - 'rampant', if that doesn't sound too phallic - so matched patches would make sense. Bhopla became part of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh in 1956, at which time I believe their regiments became part of the Indian Army.
However, the current XXI Corps, IA, successor to the XX Corps, which contained Bhopal units from 1942, uses what is described as a 'chakra' badge, though to my Western eyes it looks like a saw blade. . |
