Royal Natal Carbineers titles

I picked up a pair of Royal Natal Carbineers shoulder titles; in the same packet was numerals ones and twos.

Does anyone know if loose numerals were worn over the titles as I've only seen a combined titles for 1 RNC and 2 RNC?
