There seem to be an awful lot of these, always offered as original, I have to say that I have never really liked them.

Hi Neil, as said the J&Co looks like a cast copy, the large w/m collar badge is unusual. If it is the same size as the OSD collar badge then that was only made for a short while with a slider as a pugaree badge, as such yours is interesting. Any chance of a detailed photograph? Your arm-badges are widely copied so are difficult to be dogmatic about. The small WW1 tank is an Iraqi collar, they come in w/m, brass and bronze, hope this helps a little, best wishes Mike

I'm sure the lugged RAC has been discussed previously. Arm badge if I recall correctly.

Is it the same size as the slidered cap badge, or very slightly smaller in which case I thought the guess was collar badge?

Hi Neil, your RTC collar/ topee badge is identical to one I have. They were prone to the crown breaking off, this has been a recurring issue with sliders attached to crown, so maybe they were produced with lugs as collars. I would have thought they would have needed longer lugs to attach to a topee. Who knows, still a very interesting badge and one to look out for. The 1st pattern RAC is probably an Indian or M.E. made one. I have a couple both with lugs and based on the RAC badge with strengthening slider, the same one you show. I think they may be correct but it is always a problem with the locally made items to date them correctly. The bullion is a modern item, I think Bovington still sell them on their web site. It is not the same as the one on the officer's astrakhan beret, it had more of a kings crown. Hope all this helps Mike

Hi Tony, I assume you are referring to the the brass looking collar. Is it possible to have a close up pic? Another possible mystery, thanks in advance Mike
