Hi all
what are the thoughts on this enamelled 4th.
Not listed in Cossum so presumably sweethearts?

Looks like those fake enamel badges that you used to make Brad
(sorry I just couldn't resist!!!)
The enamel is badly done and the colours just don't look right

This badge is a sweetheart badge.
During the 1930's and 1940's ads appeared in the newspapers of the time by jewellers offering to enamel badges for "your Sweetheart"

If you do a search of "Trove" you may find the adverts listed.

So the unlucky purchaser of this badge did not pickup a rare and unidentified militia officers badge but a sweetheart badge. An expensive sweetheart badge at $330usd!

I would have sworn it was one that badgecollector Brad/Chris/whatever your name is today? made a couple of years ago tho!!!!!
Like these fakers see pic...later sold on ebay to a novice collector by "SHEDFINDS" or "ROBBO" (can't remember the alias as there are so many) for stupid money..........just totally ruining the hobby...disgraceful form
