Default Royal Arty. arm of service strip

All,
Please clear some confusion here. Were the RA arm of service strips on ww2 BD blouses worn with the red half to the fore (to the right when viewed on the right arm) or the blue half to the fore? Thanks,

CB

The red bit faces the front, blue bit the back on both arms.

Both RA & RE wore the same AoS, and it has created confusion in the past.

As seen on the Right Arm:

RA with Red to front on both arms

RE with Blue to front on both arms

It's probably 'old soldier' talk, yet has some semblance of logic; I was always told that the red goes forwards in the RA to represent barrel flash.

Thanks much all! This has been a bone of contention for awhile here.
