Default RCAF Winged Wheel Badge

There is a lot on ebay at the moment, which is a collection of RCAF items to one man. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2719854633...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT)

I am particularly interested in the winged wheel badge shown in this photo. Can anyone identify it? Its similar to the British Dispatch Rider or Motor Transport sleeve badge without the lettering.

I have seen these badges on ebay but have assumed them to be poor repros.

I believe the badge in question is either dispatch rider or driver.
Some interesting stuff in that lot.

The price for the entire lot on eBay seems excessive to me.

The vendor is a former member of the forum. I seem to recall that all of his eBay listings had very high starting prices.

I agree it's a high price for a relatively unspectacular lot.

But has anyone seen the winged wheel badge before, or photos of it in use?

I have seen the badge before, but not on a uniform. It was again in an accumulation of a serviceman's material.

I've only seen the Army version.

I posted elsewhere about this badge as to what it is, as it is on Ebay now

Has anyone considered that its not air force, but police? Many motorcycle police units use this type of badge.

May be a possibility, but the badge in question was in an estate lot of RCAF airman. The vendor calved it off from the other material as it was unique. There were indications that the airman was a vehicle tech or driver given what was in the trunk. There was nothing to suggest that the badge was from any other service.

In all honesty, I don't think it's an RCAF badge..... at least not one I've ever seen a reference to in any book...... Nor have I ever seen one for sale before now.

Mike, that is the problem. This may be a one off or private purchase item, and it certainly is contrary to the types of trade / occupation badges worn by the RCAF. It may be from some other purpose, and it does have some similarity to the odd railway badge I have seen.

I have seen one for sale before I think as Air Force but it looked like a poor repro until I saw the one in the above lot which leant towards an RCAF use.
