Default Welsh Fusiliers?

Hello,

please can anyone help identify these soldiers?

Their Regiment and shoulder titles?

Thanks very much.

Terry

They could be two of my Great Uncles:

Thomas Smith DOB 1892 [1901 Census]
Charles Smith BRUNDLE DOB 20th Jan 1895 [Birth Certificate + 1901 & 1911 census]
William Smith DOB 1898 or 1899 [1901 & 1911 census]

Two of their elder brothers were regulars in the 2nd Bn Royal Fusiliers, two others were enlisted in other regiments but discharged for health reasons before entering any war theatre.

The family lived in North Kensington, West London.

I’ve scanned the photograph, I think this is the clearest image possible.

Thanks very much.

Terry

The soldiers in your photograph appear to belong to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.

Thanks very much for confirming RWF. Can anyone make out the shoulder title? Were these any different for different battalions? The one on the left appears to begin with W (not R), then possibly a number. The one on the right 3 characters (consistent with RWF examples online). Brothers, they may have been posted to different battalions.
Thanks very much.
Terry
