Default WW2 SAS-SBS vehicle marking

In order to increase my limited knowledge of WW2 SAS missions I have watched several documentaries. In one of them I noticed this vehicle marking on the back of a Jeep. I may be over thinking this, but it doesn't look like a winged dagger so much as a winged anchor. Either way, that is no cross piece on the dagger/anchor.

Reminiscent of the Belgian para-commando blade upwards, ribbon scrolls instead of wings badge.

This example is only a little better. Perhaps they had more important things that vehicle markings on their minds? Mike

Smile SAS?

I think the twin Vickers K guns mounted on the rear of the jeep may be a clue as to the unit.

Indeed, but the image has come from one of those recent documentaries with improperly researched footage and the ghastly, overloud and overdramatic soundtrack. It was about the SAS but also mentioned the SBS and the SRS.

Could you elaborate please, concerning the insignia and your comment relating to it?
Or are you stating that the documentary mentioned was'nt any good?
