Default Badge for Good Shooting - Volunteers

Good day folks

I believe this to a sleeve badge for Good Shooting (Volunteers) 1860s - 1880s. I have been able to find other examples on a red ground but not dark green (or possibly dark blue). Is this just the form of dress or does it denote a type of unit.

How many grades were there?

Many thanks

James

James,

Its background colour denotes the colour of uniform worn by the corps.

Most RVC dressed as Rifles in either green or shades of grey.

There were 4 grades, no star, one, two and three.

If you wish to sell it please PM me.

regards
