Dickinsons real deal
Good lot of medals and framed badges on Dickinsons real deal today. Supposedly some restrikes in the badges, but hard to tell as they were framed. The dealer who bought them did very well as there was some decent medals which would easily cover his outlay and so got the badges free.

Afternoon.
At the end of the show he said that he hadn't sold them. A LRDG badge and Military Cross (!!!!!) in there, surely he got his money back, no wonder they only valued them at around £300 as loaded with duff badges. Some of the medals may get him his money back (again it's the usual antique dealer "I don't know much about militaria/medals, know that WW1 medals are named" and that's it, no clue that the medal could be for a rare unit. They should all stick to gold as that is their speciality (they know that to the pound). One or two are fairly good, like when that SAS veteran brought in his medals, dealer offered big money near £10k (if I remember correctly) but advised him to go to auction. Ta Jonathan |

Hi Jonathan,
the military cross looked like a copy, but the Afghanistan and India General Service should get his money back if right - they looked ok. mark |
