South London Cadets badge.

According to Bosley's Auctioneers who sold one recently for £55 it was listed as "Recorded 30th April 1913, AO 235 affiliated to 21st Bn. London Regt."

Here's my best find of 2018. A Royal Dublin Fusiliers bandsman's pouch badge. I still have several RDF items on my wants list but this was a great one to scratch off the list!

Amongst the myriad of fairly common badges, berets and caps I picked up through the year, a French award stands out for me, not found as such but given to me today by my mother.
My father's Legion d'Honneur for participation in the Normandy campaign in 1944 which joins his WWII and Palestine 1945-48 campaign medals and his AB64 which she gave me earlier in the year.

Thanks guys, these things be they medals, badges, photographs or letters take on another dimension when they are connected to family.
Now, if only I could find the MM my grandfather earned in 1916...........

Indeed, a wonderful piece of your families history.

Nice then - I didn't realise that the Manchester's economy is scarce.
