Default EPNS on cap badge

Hi All,

has anyone seen the letters EPNS on a silver plated cap badge ? I know it stands for electro plated nickel silver, but never seen it stamped on a cap badge before.

Cheers, Mark

Someone has closed the back of the badge with the base of an old epns teapot/plate or something similar, the right hand lug is reasonably new as I had some a few years back.

Might it be part of a mess service ?
I say this because I once saw (in Greenwich Market about 10 years ago) a RA "badge" which didn't look like a real badge which looked as though it was fixed on a circular disc if I recollect correctly.
It might have been altered for an embellishment for .......

An EPNS "badge" produced as ornament on a piece of mess silver to which lugs have later been added?

I don't think the epns has got anything to do with the badge. As said it's been modified/played around with.

I said the same thing to Mark by PM. Completely agree.

It’s something that has been added to the badge at a later date to facilitate wear as a brooch. Probably made from an old silver plate tea tray or something similar.
