Default Parcel clearance delays?

Good afternoon,

Today it is exactly one month ago that a parcel from the UK arrived at Dutch customs.
Following the tracking it's still there.

Do other members experience the same?

Default customs

Was it a high value item ? If so, possibly waiting for you to pay a customs fee ?

Hi Mark,

No it's not of high value.

I asked the dutch postal service and they tell me that there is a backlog of parcels due to the new customs checks (so they say).

If the delay takes longer it will become a high value item around Christmas.
Prices of airborne badges seem to go up every week.

Quite frankly, if you are buying overseas in the middle of a global pandemic, this sort of thing really should be unexpected.

I recently received three packets over a three day period all mailed from UK. One took four weeks, one took two weeks and the other took 9 days. As posted earlier above, not to be unexpected! Having said that, I still believe that the “Royal Mail” is subject to the vagaries of it’s workers! = minimal efficiency!! Stating a fact, in May, 1965, when I first came to Canada, I was regularly receiving letters by 09:00hrs, Tuesday mornings, Post-Marked 10:30pm, Sunday, St.Pancras,London, a total time lapse of 38 hours! That letter had a 1/6d stamp, my return letter had a .15c airmail stamp and took 48 - 60 hours total lapsed time. And that was before ANA NAN was introduced! (Post code). Regards, David J.
