Default RAOC Officers & WO1's Bullion Beret & Sidecap Badges

Its been 20 years now since the formation of the RLC, and the requirment for RAOC Officers Beret Badges is still with us for Vetrons.

About 3 years ago I had a small batch of Dark Blue produced, and now supply them in Dark Blue, Airborne Maroon and Commando Green.

Always classed as a private purchase the 'modern' example looks a bit more like the cap badge than those supplied by Military Tailors!

One or two have been ordered for framing with medals as well.

Left, Original Bullion Badge - Middle, Modern Example - Right, Cap badge for comparison.

The odd original Bullion Badge turns up on e-bay!

Is the background colour of the garter in your example the same dark blue as the backing? Shouldn't it be royal blue?

Rgds, Thomas.

The square cannon balls in the original bullion badge would seem to indicate some fatal flaw in the procurement process in the 17th Century!

Default RAOC WO1 Bullion Beret Badge

I have seen your post re WO1 bullion beret badge and would ask if you have any for sale. If not, do you know of where I can purchase one or two. My friend would also like to replace his worn out badge.

Kind regards

Robert Hood
