Default Mystery artillery uniform

Can anyone please identify this uniform, he appears to be from an artillery or horse artillery unit though the uniform looks more Yeomanry like but his artillery (or engineer?) status confirmed by the trumpeters badge as worn by artillery and engineers and both the grenade on his arm above the trade badge and the grenade collar badges, but I don’t recognise the cap badge, any informed opinions very gratefully received, with thanks in anticipation

Members of the Royal Regiment of Artillery do not wear a Grenade on the sleeve.

In which case it must be an Engineers unit, presumably from one of the dominions?

Default Mystery artillery uniform

The consensus seems to be that it is an engineer unit rather than artillery

Default Mystery unit

I am pleased to say this has been identified elsewhere on the forum as Cambridge University Rifle Volunteers pre 1908 with probable prior service in RE which would explain the apparently contradictory collar badges and arm badges, probably a member of their permanent staff with prior regular service in S. Africa as evidenced by his medal, the uniform fits perfectly the tones of the photo, grey with silver lace and very pale blue facings
