Default Royal Pioneer Corps and it's pre life

I have received a selection of RPC items won on the "bay" so can you help with the order of the metal shoulder titles should be in:-

LC - AMPC - PC - RPC(metal) - RPC(anod)
The last 2 I can guess at...
Thanks,
Jerry

Sean: a nice selection of Pioneer badges etc!

I am putting together a feature of Pioneer Collectables in our Pioneer Association newsletter. Only WW1 for this issue, but WW2 onwards in the next.

Will publish it here when it has gone to print. Interesting to see some of your badges etc here. A few areas that you are missing etc, such as formation badges and also labour corps collar badge etc etc. Also the famous Pioneer Red and Green flash for WW2 and worn again by 23 Pioneer Regiment (disbd).

Speak soon, Paul

Hi Paul
Just updated the album, not sure why the collar badges never made it on? Also the Southern Command formation signs and the arm of service strip were already in the album although I only have one type there should at least be two more, I have also seen a
1st Corps formation sign but it seems to be quite rare.
Please let me know what else I'm missing (other than printed cloth shoulder titles)....I'm always learning.
Did the RPC ever wear officers rank slip ons with RPC embroidered on? I have never seen any.
Regards
Sean

Hi Sean,

Apologies for not replying sooner!

Have never seen your embroidered Pioneer badge for Airborne Forces before, I think quite rare!

The Pioneers in WW2 I know served with 14 different Formation badges, your Southern Command ones are very good!

You are definitely missing the WW2 Pioneer Red and Green Flash strips. They look quite similar to these reproduction ones here...

Not seen RPC slip ons, but will find out.

Also you are missing the LC Labour Corps cloth - these are very rare. Your RPC cloth badge I have never seen and am not sure they had this one but will check. Also to complete your collection of Pioneer related items, add in General Service Corps and also the 2 x Logistic Corps cap badges (which include Pioneer axes) and of course the re-issed red/green flashes (larger than WW2) which were worn for a period of time.

Also, don't for the Non Combatent Labour Corps and the later Non Comabatent Corps - badges NCLC and NCC - the NCLC is as rare as hens teeth by the looks of it.

Also the Labour Corps crossed Pick and Axes - 2 variations, one for ORs and one for Officers, which were darker colour (perhaps bronze).
