The Royal Regiment of Artillery
Hello from Canada
I recently obtained this helmet plate thinking it was an OR's badge, but after soaking the badge for three days using a mild dish detergent and giving it a gentle brushing using a soft tooth brush I noticed that the wheel on the gun carriage started to move slightly. The gilt finish came up in a very nice state and the striking is very sharp and crisp. The badge weighs 51g. and is 85 cm wide x 102cm high. It is on three loops and the carriage wheel is held in place with two clips. Opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. |

It is an officers Helmet plate in gilt.
The pierced Royal Arms centre confirms that. regards

Thank you Simon
I will catalogue it as KK 806 for reference purposes. KK did not seem to mention OR's or Officer's in the HP descriptions. Kind Regards Michael Griffiths |

I am still wondering why this is in the "Cavalry, Yeomanry, Tank/RAC Badges" section and not in "Royal Artillery, Royal Engineers and Royal Signals."
