Cloth / Printed MP Patch
Got this one yesterday at East Kirkby Airshow.
Can anyone tell me if it's a fake or if this printed style of patch was worn and if so, when? Thanks, Bill

Bill,
I would be doubtful about it. There is no reason for a badge from at the earliest late 1970s to be printed. Early types worn by the RMP on dpm caps were woven/embroidered on red melton subsequently replaced by woven badges with merrowed edges worn on the arm. Tim

Hi Bill,
I'd agree with Tim, as far as I'm aware the full armband was worn up until the late 80's when the large felt patch replaced it on combats. It has become smaller over the years but I've never come across a printed one. I've got the variations in my album: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...p?albumid=4091 Michael |

Tim, Michael,
Thanks for the replies. I kind of thought they were made up items. I know the RMP have never worn them in my time in the military (Mid 80s - Now) and the lettering is the same pattern/style we wear now on the merrowed version. They only cost £1 for 2 so nothing lost really, I will add them to the junk box. Thanks again, Bill
