Note the skinny poorly feathered legs of the budgie's two older brothers! PY.

I don't think that is an example I would want to "take"

I feel a bit rotten now. Poor ol’ Steve’s badge is getting a proper larruping.

Long legged Budgies, flat shield, starved ram. Not one i would consider buying. Drunken owl to the top? Not a sign i would consider to be a fake as a genuine badge could easily be disformed to appear to be drunk. If you look closely at the badge you can see the top budgies perch has been bent causing the owl to lean forward, same could happen on a genuine badge. I`m not saying the drunken top owl is not the sign of a fake but it could also be a sign of a disformed genuine badge so look out for the other tells. Another big tell is if it is on a slider, Majority if not all genuine Leeds Pals are on lug.

leeds pals
Just aquired this one. photo's don't do it justice as badge is a nice golden colour, but hope it might be a good badge for comparison...Well proportioned short legs, well proportioned ram and upright budgie ! Rear - well detailed mirror image of front.

Another one in the ? box I've come across while sorting.
If the general opinion is that it's OK, I'll be moving it on so happy to take an offer. |

Hello Keith. Looks bad to me. Big owls heads incline inwards, lacks the 'proud chested' little owl, and ram's right as viewed horn goes out of the body area. Its not the obvious long legged big owl version. We had a new member a while back who got very defensive over this version, thinking it was only the long legged type that was bad. Regards, Paul.
