Default Darkest Hour

After watching this movie yesterday I am wondering what others who have seen it thought of it, especially those residing outside of the US.

I've only seen the trailer for it, but with the haranguing "We shall fight them on the beaches..." speech, I shan't bother. I think Gary Oldman's a very over-rated actor.

Don't dismiss it (or Gary Oldman) out of hand - it's a fantastic film (in my opinion)

To see Churchill speak but hear Gary Oldman's voice was surreal, make up department did a stellar job.

Went with a group including a young adult - who had not grasped the context of the 'Dunkirk' film. It would have been better to see 'Darkest Hour' first, then 'Dunkirk' as it filled in some of the gaps. OK - some artistic licence such as the tube scene but good honest entertainment that got some people thinking and talking.
I am not a great film goer but thought the three leading cast members - Churchill, Clemmie and Secretary were excellent (Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Lily James)
