Red and Black Arm of Service Strip?

I bought this thinking it may be an arm of service strip.
It's red and black, rather than red and dark blue, my first thought was could it be APTC, but their strip was divided into three sections, black/red/black.

Does anyone know if this is an arm of service strip and if so to which arm and if it's genuine or a modern copy please?

I would say from its construction that its brand new and probably purports to be RA or RE.

Could be, the black mistakenly used instead of dark blue.

Some of the RA/RE strips that I’ve seen are very dark blue

Thanks - sounds like that's what this one is supposed to be, but looks like it's a dud, repro.

Thanks, it came from a dealer who I've not had "problems" with in the past but you never know. It was the red & "black" rather than blue that puzzled me and led to purchase.

Have you thought of Free European forces in the UK during WW2?

I believe I once saw a list of the colours of arm of service strips worn by Belgian or Netherlands troops.

As this was well over 30 years ago my memory could be playing tricks, but a Belgian or Dutch member might know.

The AoS strips used by the Dutch and Belgians were the same as the British ones.

For the Free Belgian forces in the UK this is true, they used the same as the British.

But from may 1945 onwards the Belgian army used the existing + new colours and combinations that are not used in the British army to denote different branches of the Belgian army.

Black - red is unknown to me
