Odd lugs to Paras badge
Hello all ,
has anyone got any thoughts on this one, it's a lugged a/a Paras cap badge I've got a few lugged a/a badges but none of them have two different types of lug , I don't think the difference is due to damage. Maybe lugs are from two different batches? Thanks Tony. |

It looks as though one has been pinched with a pair of pliers.

Could it be a repair ??
I've looked at a few recently through forum posts. Andy L. |

I have bought a/a Para cap badges from the museum in Aldershot with both sliders and lugs.
I believe I bought the lugged versions in 1991. Phil |

Hi Guys,
The lugs are one and the same but I can't tell from the images if the lug wire is round or semi-flat. In both cases the feet are of the 'sweeping' type. If the lug wire is round then the badge was in all probability made by Firmin and is quite early. If semi-flat then it could have been made by Firmin or Smith & Wright who seem to have shared the same lugs implying that they were supplied by a third party. There is also some evidence (on the way to me now from the UK) that points to the company Buttons Ltd also sharing the same semi-flat lug type in its badges. Regards Chris |

Thanks to everyone for the replies, nothing more than a squashed lug!
Cheers Tony. Last edited by tonyb; 21-01-11 at 06:28 PM. Reason: spelling |
