Default Shopping Spree

Been busy doing some shopping and this is what I found

Unfortunately no bargains but some scarce and unusual items! Helmet also comes with provenance - ex-RMA veteran.

Including was this contemporary custom-made belt plate, believed to be Victorian as suggested by the cypher. The lower part bears a shield with the Maltese emblem, however would appreciate any further thoughts and suggestions.

Hi,
I would suggest based on construction that this may be a more modern item created for a re-enactment group and not a Victorian period item.

I like the helmet though... nice camo and flash. Could this have been worn by an AA gunner?

Thanks for the suggestion. You could very well be right, actually I thought that due to it's construction that it might be a period piece.

As for the helmet, this was worn by the RA as the flash suggests, but also adopted by the RMA. This actually came from a Maltese veteran gunner which served in WWII with the RMA.

Regards.
