Motto and eyes on Wolesely helmet
I am under no illusion with this one and just bought it cheaply from ebay as a photo platform for the pagri flash interest group. However a quick flick through the Woleseley helmet in pictures shows that it was'nt unusual for a soldier to ink a design onto the front of his helmet. So might this be a reference to unit by way of a joke or is it simply defaced for use in a school play? The inner is green felt , the pagri three folds with flip front and back. What do you think? i think some ten year old has been playing with a marker pen. There is no way that is original to the helmet.

Very likely. It Shows dark in the photo but the eyes are faded, as you say probably marked for the peter pan gang circa 1981

Battle Honour?
Maybe; just maybe it was penned by a 'Bone-head' in recognition of their most famous Battle Honour.... "Treasure Island".....
