Default Looking for help.

Hi,

I have recently been approached by a friend who`s late father served in the Artillery during WW2, starting off as a Gunner and ending up a Captain. He knows he served overseas at some point and the family are sure he was a spy of some sort, a bit of a conundrum.
I do not subscribe to Ancestry and wondered if anyone can shine any light on service details on this chap.
His name is Maurice Burton Brown and his Army number was 197790.
In anticipation

Thankyou

Kevin

Kevin,

There are no WW2 service records on Ancestry. He is however in a family tree with these details.

Spouse Winifred Fletcher
Father Frederick Charles Brown
Mother Minnie Burton
Birth 11 Dec 1913 Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England
Death Dec 1993 Torbay, Devon, England
Residence 1939 Cambridgeshire, England

Also the London Gazette records his commission as a 2nd Lt in RA on 12.7.1941

regards
