1881 pattern officers' collar badge
Hello Ron,
I don't know if you recall, but over a year ago I was searching for a decent image of the 1881 BW officers' pattern collar badge for our series on uniformology.com and at the time you were unable to help. I have at last managed to find one, and so am posting it here as seemingly the best place. I hope that you find it useful and interesting. |

Toby, I have a couple of images now I understand there are two patterns one die-cast and one flatcast. Ron. |

Thank you Ron, one aspect that's unclear is which pattern was for officers and which for other ranks. Do you have images of both types for comparison?

No I do not have images of both types, but I would have thought officers wolud be silver? Ron. |

Yes, I think you’re right Ron, no doubt German or Sterling silver. I’m just curious as to what the visual difference might have been between the two types.
