Default Montgomeryshire Imperial Yeomanry gm

A recent buy from ebay, it was pointed out to me as a good one before I bid and got it. Thanks to him who gave me the heads up, it is appreciated.

I assume as it is gm for the khaki sd cap it would have been introduced in 1905 when the cap was introduced, even if it is the 1902 to 1908 pattern?

A lovely badge and glad you’ve landed one at a good price after such a long hunt.

Yes that’s right regarding the caps.

Very nice Jerry, some people are asking a fortune for these badges, never mind, you have one now.

Thanks Frank.

I was the only bidder and it was relatively cheap.

Hello Jerry,
Yes, well that is certainly a big plus, I think I mentioned before that there is a dealer with half a dozen or so, but, the prices being sought are truly eye watering!
They are nice badges though, I don't think that I have a GM example.
Regards Frank

Indeed, not cheap just a lot less than they usually are listed at.

Hello Jerry, I don't seem to have a GM example, only WM, I'll have to do something about that as and when!

I managed to add another MYC to my collection, this time the full white metal version, interestingly it has a hairpin slider of the so named extruded type.

It’s broken and has a replaced slider. The repairer has used a hairpin to give it a larger surfaces area for the solder which is visible.
