Default Hallmarked POW Feathers & Cloth Bugle Horn for ID Please

Hello All

I have just acquired the 2 badges pictured below. The first is a hallmarked silver POW feathers badge. The badge is hallmarked Birmingham with date letter for 1931 and maker mark F&S (the hallmarks are on the middle of the centre feather on the front of the badge). The badge is 36mm wide by 37mm tall - Can anyone identify what this badge is please.

The 2nd badge is a cloth bugle horn. Approx 57mm wide by 43mm tall. Can anyone identify this badge and approximate period of use. This one will probably be moved on if it doesn't fall within my sphere of collecting.

Many thanks in advance

Paddy

Paddy,

Bugle is the SD arm badge of a Bugler.

Used in the same format for over 120 years but if pressed from its colours and construction I would say WW1 period.

regards

The thread starter is too small to be an arm badge, more likely a collar though the design appears much like a denbigh hussars sweetheart I own and others I have seen.

It does look like an arm badge as mentioned, but too small for that. Another possibility is Indian Army, although I am not sure which regiment. I think it is a cap badge at the size it is with those lugs, which look a little long for a collar.
Very nice indeed!

Simon

Many thanks for the ID, would I be right in assuming that this bugle could have been worn above the inverted 4 chevrons for wear by a Bugle major>

Alex, Jerry, CB & Insignia

Many thanks for your comments. The badge was listed as a 3DG arm badge but once he told me the sizes I doubted that so was thinking along the lines of an officer's cap badge. I was undecided between Fattorini and Firmin, swaying towards Fattorini but the thing that gave me doubts was I couldn't find an exact match for the F&S on 3 separate blocks in the hallmark.

12th royal lancers pagri badge? this one is also hm F&S but 1908. I note he has a badge of the same design, not in silver, which he has for the 10th hussars...a difficult design to pin down
