Misc Badges Purchased
Purchased these on a whim and dont really know too much about them. Got them cheap enough so not concerned about being burned.
It looks like theres a mixture of eras here?? Not sure if any are real, modern or restrikes... A few to me are kinda interesting, like the 2nd Warwickshire, Jellalabad collar?, the Queens collar? and The Yorkshire Regt Princess of Wales'son (which is maker marked on the back "Firmin London". If anyone wants to help out please do so. Sorry for my crappy photography skills. |

Hi VS
The large star is a German shako plate, probably post-war, for the Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine-Westphalia) Polizei. The crown/eagle/wreath is a cap badge worn by Royal Air Force Warrant Officer's pre-1953. Graham

The crescent and rooster could be a restrike of the french Foreign Legion, 1e Batatillon de Marche de Volontaires Étranger.

Thanx guys.
Figured the large star might be german. Don't think the reverse is marked. Interesting that the moon and rooster is French. That badge seems kinda crude to me. If I have the time I will take some pics of the backs. |

The Queen's collar appears to be nickel and if so it's a Volunteer Battalion one but not particularly rare.
The 24th glengarry looks genuine as it's North-South lugged but they've been copied to death due to the popularity of Zulu. The Royal Artillery is a Territorial one, looks good. The Middlesex Regiment is an Edwardian one, looks good too. Maybe the same for the Royal Sussex but it may just have a missing shank. |

I'm not so keen on the Middlesex now I've seen the rear and the Queen's collar doesn't look like nickel to the rear. The Essex & Devonshire could be WW2 era.

72nd Highlanders
The 72nd Highlanders is a shoulder title to the 72nd Regiment Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, worn from 1911-1915 by this pre WW1 Militia Regiment. Not common and getting more scarce to find, valued in the $40-50.00 Canadian range.

Thanx guys.
Have lots to learn in this area. Just trying to figure out what was good and what might be bad in this lot. Was just hoping to find a gem... |
