Signal Flag Cloth Badge with Metal 'ST".

I appreciate any help with identifying the attached badge. It has the signals flags with an attached ST which I'm guessing refers to Signals troop?

Unsure what era or from what Service this badge relates to.

For two to appear within days of each other is either a coincidence or someone has found some "rare" (previously unknown !) items and is cashing in ?

I fished this badge out from a table on Saturday at the Show
of Shows in Louisville Kentucky. It looked unusual so for $5 was worth taking a chance on.

Crazy coincidence indeed.
