Default Victorian The Kings Own FSC

hi all
just after some thoughts on this Victorian The Kings Own FSC.
what period are we looking at? I know its Victorian so pre 1901 but is it possible to narrow down?
is the badge correct? it is obviously without the words below?
is this an officers or ORs?
are the buttons correct? what do they say?
any idea of value on this item?
we don't get many of these come up in Australia and this along with a couple others will be for sale once I've done some research.
regards
BC

Non Scottish regiments officially stopped using the glengarry after 1896, though no doubt some carried on in use. The maker appears to be Hawkes & co of saville row. Officers cap I think from the buttons

I don't know much about collar badges (cf Churchill) but it was worn on the Field Service Cap and the Foreign Service Helmet.
However on 16th March 1897 on the FSC the new WO official badge Pattern 4500/1897 described as Lion of England with pierced title KING'S OWN below.

But yes, it does look like a specific made officer's badge!

The KORR Museum site shows a number of CFSC's (took me while to find a link again)

No, the collar would be earlier than 1897 (see Churchill)

The cap badge worn from 1897 to about 1959!

Nice collection Leigh ! Yes, officers wore what they wanted (within reason)

Collar badges were very often (metal or bullion) were worn on the FSC and later the beret

I rather think that the FSC was introduced in 1894. Anyway, the "cap badge" was introduced in 1897.
