Default time frame for RTR band armbadge

Hi, could anyone say when this arm badge was introduced? It is quite a distinctive style, which I have only found in bullion, many thanks in advance, Mike

Hi rboorman, do you know when they were introduced? As I said it is quite a distinctive style, I have both silver and gold but no idea when they were in use. As the gold one came with the band bits, I am assuming it was post 1953, thanks for your reply, best wishes Mike

Default RTR

Sorry, I have no idea. I bought one fairly recently from the RTR shop, they may be able to help out?

Hi, here is a selection of arm badges WW1 until present. Though all are different, the example I was querying has completely different characteristics. Still hoping someone may be able to say when it was in use, best wishes Mike

Hi Mike,

Here’s some close ups. No date on the label, but just about everything else.

Hi Andrew, that is a lot of information, I'm sure, somewhere in all of that, there is a date. Very impressive. At home I'm fairly sure I have the standard for that badge. If so I'll let you know the date for it, best wishes and thanks for showing it, Mike

You may be able to get a rough dating period from the army number 24439192.

The website shows 1975 - 1978

So Bandsman Dara joined in 1976/77 and at 6’ 5” he would stand out in a group photo! The uniform could have been made (special measure) anytime after 1977.
