Default ARMY CATERING CORPS PLASTIC COLLAR OR BERET?

Bought small collection of ACC badge and this was in it?

WWII plastic economy Army Catering Corps cap badge,
339,40 produced (68,162 by Fraser & Glass, 170,878 by Alfred Stanley & Sons), contract dates 25/7/42 _ 5/9/45.

Shrinkage, I'd say, possibly accentuated by minor size differences if they're by different manufacturers.

The vast majority of ACC plastic badges that I have seen tend to be unworn, I should imagine rather more were actually made than were issued, notwithstanding, I certainly would not want to dig deep to buy one.
