Laurent,
These look like some nice WW1 US Insignia. The red circle with the blue quarter is the 35th Div, 128th Field Artillery. I'll see what I can also ID shortly. Paul |

Hi Laurent

Hi Laurent,
The red ladder is Camp Pontanezam, the debarkation and point of return to America for much of the AEF. Don

The red backed patch with the blue corner is the for the 35th Inf. Div. The blue corner represents the 128th Field Artillery Battalion. This division had a plethora of colors and variants to denote the various constituent units of the division. The basic patch actually represents a wagon wheel, as it was based in Oklahoma, with men from Kansas and Missouri.
In WW2 the patch was simplified to just a blue background with a white wheel. It was the patch worn in the Clint Eastwood movie Kelly's Heroes! The patch with the flaming bomb was for an Ordnance Corps private, worn on the upper arm in WW1 period. The US eagle is perhaps for a military school, I dont know. It is much more modern as is the USAF combat crew badge. CB Forgot to mention that the 89th division, which you show upside down, is for the 178th Infantry with that blue inner section. From Nebraska, Kansas and S. Dakota. Both of these divisions were National Guard, more or less equivalent to the British Territorial Army.

The badge reminded me of an ROTC one I'd seen online (can't remember where/when) and as the NDCC are a similar organisation their badges may have the same characteristics .
"The National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) is similar to the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) except that it is fully funded by schools that choose to pursue a JROTC unit without financial assistance from the Department of Defense." Found photos of badges used by both organisations (different shield to one in original post) but also ROTC badge with same shield.

USAF Combat Crew :
"Established by the USAF on 1 September 1964, the badge was worn by service members working in positions where they were accruing service towards the combat readiness medal." https://amcmuseum.org/collections/co...rew-i-d-badge/
