Default RTR References

What is the best reference(s) for badges and cloth insignia on the RTR?

FS 267 is excellent because it covers the whole 100 year period.
There are also two dedicated issues of Militaria Magazine, numbers 255 & 257, you can order back issues direct from the publisher or they do occasionally appear on the well known auction site.

I am investigating whether the Society has any hard copies left and will report back.

If not we can provide it as a PDF.

Watch this space.

Hi

The best reference IMO is 'Tanks Again' by Peter Payne & Jim MacDonald.

This was available on CD and also I believe there was a limited number published in Soft Back?

The last CD I obtained for a friend was about 15+ years ago from the late Jim MacDonald. I wouldn't know where you might obtain one now, I think you'll have to continue to ask around.
If you're a serious RTR collector its worth getting as its effectively a complete, if not definitive guide and includes everything: badges, cloth, uniforms, headdress, ephemera etc. etc.

Best of luck
Rob

Ah, I see there were three books by those authors, the third being "Tanks Again Another Look at Things To Do with the RTR and its Predecessor"?

I have a feeling 'Tanks again' was the last in the series.

I have PM'd the OP with regards to 'Tanks Again'.
I too have a CD ROM that I got 15 odd years ago.
I printed it out and have offered this to the OP, but have heard nothing.
