Sonofacqms, Thank you.

Is it a Volunteer or TA Badge? Can't find any reference as to who wore a WM or chromed Buffs badge.

Cheers
Chris

Chris, cannot really get a feel from the photo of the badge to say whether it is genuine or not. However, i can say that the 141 RAC wore a chromed badge of the Buffs during WWII. 141 RAC was converted from the 7th Buffs and was permitted to wear their original cap badge but chrome plated by the REME in the field. I have seen this badge reproed as well as there being a Franklin Mint (this is not one) issue. Is the slider white metal? If it is it may be 141 RAC. If the slider is not plated it could br Bandsmens or NCO`s.
Cheers, Dave

Dave,

It appears to be a white metal slider. I thought it might be brass with a bit chipped off showing brass underneath at first but that doesn't appear to the case on close inspection, just a wee bit of discolouring.

The badge itself is very well and crisply struck. The slider is attached with what appears to be a white braising material or it may be chromed over, but it doesn't have the shininess of the rest of the badge.

Cheers
Chris
