Reminds me of POW feathers that you find with the RM Plymouth band

ok, not heard of them, the cap is military from c.1901-1910, waiting for it to arrive, sadly the pics of the button are pretty poor, which might have helped

Speaking of 2nd V.B. Devonshire Reg. Did you see this one at the C&T (I think) before last? A new one to me and not in KK.

A very nice early cap, rare to see with the chin strap. I am sure the buttons will tell all once they can be seen clearly. I think it likely to be an officer's cap with those silver buttons and the badge looks like it might be silver as well.

No idea what it went for in the end, it interested me as it's a Plymouth Volunteer Bn, I have the majority of POW feathers collar badges for the Bn, and I've only ever seen a smaller black POW cap badge with simply 2nd VB on the scroll, and that was years ago. The scroll doesn't seem to have aged or match the the feathers, which is odd. Certainly an interesting badge. Sorry to have highjacked this thread a little! The buttons do match the 15th London's, as Simon and Rob say, just to get thread on track again. Nice cap! Chris |

Rob 15th London or Middlesex RV. I couldn’t see them in Ripley, is there a full list of London Regt. buttons in any publication? Ta. |

I haven't seen it all published anywhere but there is a thread on here which has some information.

I did look in the Ripley books I have but could not find a match, though officer buttons are often different to or's in my experience and not well covered.
