Default Help needed with Cape Town Highlanders/Transvaal Scottish dress regulations

Hello everyone,

I recently bought the book containing the regimental history of the Cape Town Highlanders from 1885 to 1970. To my surprise, it also contained the dress regulations of around 1939, I believe. As I am interested in uniforms and stuff like that, I was wondering if these dress regulations applied throughout the entirety of the second world war, and if the Transvaal Scottish had something similar, if not the same. The dress regulations are as follows;

Review order: Glengarry, sporran, white belt and frog, white spats, rifle and bayonet (seperate instructions issued when slings were to be whitened).

Drill order: Skeleton web equipment, rifle and bayonet, khaki apron, khaki spats, Balmoral by day, Glengarry by night.

I have my doubts about the khaki spats, because quite frankly, in any of the pictures the book contains, I haven't seen them once. I'm pretty sure puttees were more common, but I'll leave that up to debate. Hopefully I'm not spoiling any parts of the book either!
