Default Polish Resettlement Camps Post WW2

Searching for something else, Brazil's, a firm of pie makers I remember from when I was a boy , I found this site:

http://www.polishresettlementcampsin....uk/camps2.htm

There is some interesting stuff there, even badges and medals:

When I first moved to South Cheshire in the 1980`s there was already a long established Polish Social Club in Crewe serving the Polish Community the members of which I presume had been previously been housed at Doddington.

( Doddington Hall was one of the homes of the Delves Broughton family and in fact the opening sequence of the film "White Mischief " was, I believe, shot outside Doddington Hall )

I seem to recall that there was some sort of Polish Military Organisation based in Manchester but I cannot remember the details I have over the years acquired some interesting Polish military items locally.

There is now a large Polish community in Crewe but a lot are newcomers to the UK.

P.B.

Same here in Trowbridge with the Keevil Camp close by and now more likely to hear Polish spoken in the town than English.

When I first joined the Army cadet Force in the town we had a Polish speaking Instructor to help with the Polish Cadets but most spoke better English than the locals.
