Default Wiltshire IY Slouch hat badge

Wiltshire IY Slouch hat badge showing the all brass feathers.

It's a plain brass PofW feathers above the IT title.

Whlst this hat was for wear with khaki drab, contemporary photos show the Sqn in No 1 dress with pill box hats and FSC.

Is that a rosette specific to the Wiltshire IY? ....... or just an IY rosette worn by the Wilts IY?

The common rosette was red on blue with just a brass POWFs with a brass IY below it for general use.

The hat looks like it could be modern Australian?

Is this in one of the Swindon Museums or at one of the Drill Halls.

The Regiment has a lot more material in storage but has never been able to secure space in a Museum to display it. I know the Regimental Archivist if he would agree with that title.

Sergeant 21421 Thomas Blakeley Rix, 7th (1st PAOLYC) Coy., 4th Btn. I.Y. back in the UK just after his stint in the Boer War, he is holding his FFS cap and in it is a large POWs Feathers Cap badge
