Prize Badge

This particular badge has been in my collection for about 25 years but even then it should not have existed with a Queens Crown.

Were these used for another purpose or is it just a fantasy badge produced by someone?

I have seen other examples of your badge of similar vintage. There is also the attached which was attributed to the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry. Another mystery.

My guess would be unofficial but possibly authorised at unit level.

The style and method of construction looks very British to me but I am always open to persuasion with evidence.
